I opened Salon Nuuvo 9 years ago to bring professional hair services to Calabasas and other local communities. My mission was to make people feel good from their hair to their hearts. It was my objective on my business plan written all those years ago...and I plan to continue doing just that. Hairdressers are empathetic individuals who give clients an extra bounce in their steps. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This picture was taken in February 1918 during the Spanish flu. If we close all salons, hairdressers will just go underground. I don’t condone this, I’m just stating a fact. They have to feed their families. Give us a solution, not a dead end. On June 11, CNN wrote an article about two Missouri hairstylists testing positive. They saw 140 patrons, and zero new cases were linked to the salon. That’s because they did everything right. There is no data relating hair salons to an increase in COVID cases. Tell me I have to wear a mask, tell me I have to limit my appointments, tell me I have to take extraordinary precautions. But don’t tell me I have to layoff 15 people and close my doors...again. Don’t call my livelihood nonessential unless you want to replace it. #GavinNewsom #losangeles #hairsalon
